Why I started yoga...
Yoga is something I have been doing for a long time, however my reasons behind my practice have changed.
I initially was introduced to yoga during my dancing years, I did yoga to help me stay supple for dance.
However almost 4 years ago I went through quite a traumatic experience which made me feel completely lost and empty. It made me realise who my true friends were and when I noticed there wasn’t that many around me I decided I needed to dig deep and become my own inner support system.
I traveled to India to learn more about myself and yoga. Out there we learnt about the art of silence, meditation, karma yoga and pranayama; all aspects of yoga I had never really explored.
It made me understand the power of my own mind and sparked my interest for the psychology behind yoga, and yoga as therapy.
I strongly believe yoga was my saviour, it helped me find my own inner strength and wisdom. I am so passionate about being able to share that gift with others.
I’m not a counsellor nor am I psychologist however I believe I can help people to understand them selves further to help guide them towards peace and happiness within their own lives.
Yoga is not just the asana (postures), it can offer you so much more.
Namaste (the light in me greets the light in you).
